Anna Noakes

The playing of Anna Noakes has led to concerto engagements with the Orchestra of St. John's Smith Square, Northern Sinfonia, Serenata of London, the Locrian Ensemble and London Musici. She is also Professor of Flute at the Trinity College of Music in Greenwich, as well as a sought after private tutor.

Anna has recorded extensively for the label ASV. The CD of the flute and harp works of J M Damase, recorded with her duo partner Gillian Tingay, was voted Critic's Choice in Gramophone Magazine. Anna's recent releases received fantastic reviews in BBC Music Magazine and Gramophone. Their most recent CD - a collection of British works entitled Beyond the Dark - has also had rave reviews. Other recordings include the chamber works of Poulenc, Ginastera and Alan Rawsthorne with the Fibonacci Sequence.

Anna broadcasts regularly for BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, both as a soloist and chamber musician. Last summer saw two festival programmes being broadcast live from both the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, and from the Dartington International Festival.

Anna works as guest Principal flute with most of London's Orchestras, such as the Philharmonia, LPO, RPO, Royal Opera House Orchestra, CLS, OSJ, and The English Classical Players as well as the RSNO and the RLPO. She finds herself increasingly in demand recording music for film and television, working on films such as Lord of the Rings, and Love Actually.

Julie Murray

Julie has established an enviable reputation as a highly distinguished flute teacher in the North of England. She has performed with many of the North West's leading orchestras; the Manchester Camerata, Mozart Players, BBC & Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestras.

She freelances and plays regularly as a member of the Carlton Ensemble. Julie has developed a CD-ROM flute teaching project that will fundamentally change teaching practises for many flute teachers around the world.

 

Hattie Webster

Hattie is frequently in demand as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, performing as a deputy in the West End show The Far Pavilions, and with the English National Ballet Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra and the English Classical Players.
Hattie regularly performs as a soloist, and was most recently found at St Martin in the Fields as a soloist with the Locrian Ensemble. She is currently working with percussionist Jez Wiles in an exciting new duo, and together with London Flutes, has recently released a CD of 20th century flute quartet and solo flute music entitled Hotfoot.
